Hi,

I am using Internet Explorer 6, and when ever I am at a site that requires a username and password
(ie- it auto-reminds what my username is. I want it to remember my name but I want to delete all the other choices that it gives me (ie- my friends hotmail username).

I have deleted temp inter files, temp files, deleted cookies,delted files, and cleared the history, but the other choices are still there.

And I want to be able to clear the location bar as well. How do I do that.

Clear auto-reminders and clear location bar.

Thanks [cheers]
Nate

If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space!

Right click IE from the desktop
Properties
Content
Autocomplete
Clear Forms / Clear Passwords

Is that what you are looking for ?

Bill.

The only 2 tabs I get in properties are:(general, version)

I don't have IE on my desktop, so I went to:
C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERNET EXPLORER\IEXPLORE.EXE

I am using Version 6

By looking at your post,YES, I want to clear the forms and passwords. [deejay]

From within IE, click on Tools|Internet Options. From there, follow my previous instructions.

This is an unelegant "shotgun" approach that I use. Caused no problems but some entries may be superfluous.
From one of reghakr's posts:
----------------------------------
1. To clear forms and passwords information, go to Tools>InternetOptions, click the Content tab, click the AutoComplete button, and choose Clear Forms and Clear Passwords. Uncheck all boxes.

2. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools>Internet Options, click the Advanced tab and uncheck "use inline autocomplete for web addresses" and "use inline autocomplete in Windows Explorer"

3. Backup the registry and/or export the following keys:
go to Start>Run, type regedit. Navigate to:

HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\IntelliForms\SPW

and delete any encypted entries that are listed in the right pane window.
----------------------------------
From somewhere on the web, and from many sources, plus "snapshots of my own registry":

[HKEY_USERS\.Default\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\IntelliForms]
"AskUser"=0
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\IntelliForms]
"AskUser"=0
[HKEY_USERS\.Default\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AutoComplete]
"AutoSuggest"="no"
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AutoComplete]
"AutoSuggest"="no"
[HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AutoComplete]
"Append Completion"="no"
"Use AutoComplete"="no"
"AutoSuggest"="no"

Some of these keys will automatically be set when you untick boxes in Tools/Internet Options/Contents/Autocomplete

[HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
"Use FormSuggest"= "no"
[HKEY_USERS\.Default\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AutoComplete]
"AutoSuggest"="no"
---------------------
Additional changes automatically produced by User select box. I don't mess with them.

For third party solution you might try AutoWhat? 2

When I looked through the advanced tab, inline auto complete was already unchecked. And by going to the content tab and clear forms and clear passwords worked perfectly.

Thank-you :bjverzal, and smitee [deejay]
