I need to modify and add to the MSysIMEXSpecs & MSysIMEXColumns tables in code/form. I have admin access but can't add, delete or modify a record in these tables.
These are the Import/Export spec tables and I'm using Access 97.

jat,
I think the lack of quick response is your answer--probably not possible. These are system tables those tables, especially MsysObjects, are great as read-only sources for many different uses, but if access let them be edited, it would be a mess.

There was a way, however, that one could change, say, the field delimiter in the imex table. An ms tech support guy showed me this over the phone, back in the days of Access 1.0 (when you could actually call ms for free and sit on the phone for an hour with a tech). But I would guess that whatever method that was is no longer applicable in these later versions of Access.

even worse, the table no longer exists (as of 2K?), so any code you generate for it will soon 'break'.

currently, I think most developers are using INI files for the specs.
