Trying to make a comparison on how people have the Lineside T-1 TN configured that goes to their Nortel MPS500 IVR system. This replaced the Periphonics IVR system.
Here is the config of the TNs going to my old Periphonics IVR.

Your old configuration was via Analog lines. The answer to your question is to determine what type of interface cards are in the MPS. If you have analog cards, then no change is required. If you have T1 connectivity, you will have to set up a digital connection with a T1 and possibly a D Channel if the card is PRI.

I'm pretty sure the MPS will support H.323 trunks as well, so you may have an IP option depending on what you have on each side.

Glad to hear you are out and about!

We are using a T-1 off of a line side T-1 card to interface with the MPS500. The requirement was that the T-1 needed to be configured with AMI instead of B8ZS.

The reason for the posting is because of an issue we are having with way the MPS500 IVR is answering incoming calls.
When the call is answered by the IVR the first second of the message has allready played so instead of saying

"welcome you have reached.."
it says "elcome you have reached...

Hooking up a telephone right on to the MPS500 allows you to observe the agents. When a phone was hooked up, and began to observe the agts, we can hear the message start to play while the call is still ringing.
Confirmation to us that the IVR is definitely starting before the call arrives.

It looks like there are two different interface settings you can use in the MSP500 as well.

Line side T-1 or Channel bank.

We currently have it set to Line side T-1.
We will be changing it to Channel Bank and see what results we get from it.

Anyone having or have had this issue with the messages playing to soon?

Thanks for the reply Fletch.

A short pause before "Welcome" audio has been put in place for now but a permanent fix is still sought.
