History Cache, edit? 2

Im looking to edit, or if it's simpler than that, delete individual files, from the pulldown menu, on the address bar. I dont believe the topic below me, is the same question.

Basically, when the address bar, saves the sites I've been to, I want to be able to delete, the individual files, that its saved, not the history, I know how to clear the history in ie...im talking that pulldown menu. I saw someone state that you can delete the temporary internet file, but I want to just eliminate some of them, not all of them.

Backup the registry and/or export the following key

To delete individual ones, go to Start>Run, type regedit. Navigate to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs
delete the entries in the right pane.

You can run a INF file to delete all at one time. Copy and paste the following into Notepad, save it as DelTypedUrls.inf

=======BEGIN CUT=====================
[Version]
Signature="$CHICAGO$"

[DefaultInstall]
DelReg=DeleteMe
AddReg=AddMe

[DeleteMe]

HKCU,"Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs"
=========END CUT====================

Right-click on this file, choose install, it will delete the TypedURLs key, yet as soon as you type in another entry, the key will be rebuilt.

Hmm, it seems that your solution doesn't work to the fullest. Maybe you can help me some more, when I delete the individual registry files, and open up ie, it has deleted more than I wanted to... what does this mean, they are linked? registry uses the files before it, to initialize the next? i dont know what im talking about, dont know much about registry, wish i could fix that...

Sorry figured it out! It was... because i didnt rename the files, after deleting one, just had to change the numbers after the url... ( url1, url2, url3, url4) if i delete url2, i have to change url3, and url4, to one less..

Anyways, still wondering where I can learn more about windows registry, thanks again everyone!

Using the .inf file, all are deleted.

Manually deleting them in the registry should only remove the ones you selected.
