Hipath 3000 E - Announcement/Paging

Excuse my ignorance but I am trying to figure out how to get paging to announce on people's phones. I do not see any settings that would accomplish this but I may have missed something.

We have Openstage phones, mainly 15's and also overhead Vulcan speakers. I was told that when someone makes an announcement, some phones are used as speakers while others are not. Some offices are not close enough to the speakers in the hallway to clearly hear what is being announced.

I am aware how to do this with our other Norstar phones but not the Hipath/Openstage phones.

As far as I remember - I don't normally work in the 3K

*80 and the extension number will announce to that phone
*80 881 to 888 will announce to a group.
You would need to check the programming as it could have been changed.

Sorry, I might have not been clear. The assistants at the front dial a number to make an announcement in a zone and a user wants the announcement to also come from their phone(ie the phone also as a speaker) since they aren’t really close to the overhead speakers. I was told it was possible, I just can’t find the setting.

Hopefully that makes more sense? I am more familiar with the norstar system since it’s at all our other locations.

You need to add the relevant phone(s) in to the group they are paging to. You can only have 20 members in a group, one of which will be the paging port that goes to the speaker system. They are using the speaker call function then the group number.

Thanks, that was it! I just didn't think to look under Incoming Calls, I was looking at Paging and Announcements. I had to remove one person but they are close to one of the hallway speakers anyways.

Thanks for the info, I did not have the exact code, we were just testing off a preprogrammed button but its good to know the code for the future.


Its odd, I thought i'd like the graphical interface more but I at least prefer the Norstar system to this Hipath system. I am hoping that we will be swapping to a full Cisco system in the next 6 months.
