I have two networks on XP PRO, one called office and one called student. How can i disable and hide the office network from being seen on a student cpu, they can see both networks by, going to network places, view workgroup, clicking on microsoft networks and selecting whatever network they want, i want that to be hidden or disableed but how.

Use your router. Many offer VLAN or other ways to segment the network.

Netbios will not traverse network segments unless you ask it to win LMHOSTS or WINS; it fundamentally will need to use broadcasts and these will not traverse a network segment.

If your needs are to see, but not access, resources in several Workgroups, you can:

. Hide shares
. Hide machines/printers
. Prevent by default the discovery of network resources

It would help if you were more specific. But the easiest way would be to place the two workgroups on seperate network segment addresses.

ok how can i change my network seagments, please be detailed.
