Hi,

i just got my DSL lately, it come with 2 static IPs and a Linksys Router (EtherFast Cable/DSL Router with 10/100 4-Port Switch). My question is how can i assign those two statics IPs to different computer, so that my IP is different than my housemate?

thanks Chiu Chan

Well.. lets start over for a second.. they gave you two static IPs.. more then likely one for the router port and one for the LAN side. The router itself should run DHCP and let you give out a range IPs so both of you would have different IPs.

DSL--static1_on_router_input----static_IP_on_router_out---DHCP--you

crude drawing but I hope it helps the visualization
