Help needed

Sorry to be lame guys but i just installed RH 8 on my IBM laptop and i have two major worries. One is i have spent three days trying to get it to talk to my windows XP machine (with my ADSL connection on it). The other is that after 72 hours, I'm starting to hallucinate.

All i want to do is get my Laptop to be able to access the internet through my LAN. Is that too much to ask ?

Whew..
Okay.
I would NOT use the ICS crud that comes with MS junk,
but it's your call. Something like winproxy will at least
get you http. Nuff said.

Checklist:
Did you set your default gw?
Did you assign an appropriate nameserver?

Please explain in more detail your problems.
