I have downloaded a free program off the internet called webcelerator and in return this was set as my homepage.i now want to revert back to my old homepage but am unable.i have gone into settings and add/remove program and removed the program but when i then try to access the internet i get a message at the bottom of the screen-connecting to site 127.0.0.1
the only way i can then access the internet is to re-install the program
i have contacted the site where i downloaded the program and my isp and the advice they have given me hasn't worked
can anybody help ???

What is your homepage in IE set for???

Can you go to Start/Run and enter a web address and get there?

You may also want to look at your connection settings and see if it is set to use a Proxy....if so, diable it.

This almost seems too simple, so forgive me if I am wrong. Can you not navigate to whatever/any page you want, then in IE goto Tools/Internet Options; Under 'Homepage' either click 'Use current' (this is the page you are currently viewing) or type in the url you want.

I hope that is all you need, maybe I need more info on the problem.

Peace

Yes, that should work. If all else fails, you'll have to edit your registry like I had too.
