I have a user who insists there is a feature button that provides headset functionality, but will also drop a caller from a conference call- somewhat of a headset/drop button combo. Does any such thing exist?

Our system is a Definity ProLogix v9 with 6408D+ phones.

Im not sure what your asking for but there is a feature called "headset", it can answer a call without lifting the cradle and hangup on the caller when the conversation is done.

Right, the headset button does do that, but does it also let you drop the last caller out of a conference call as well? Or does it hang up on everyone?

It's similar to a switch-hook. I don't believe there is any advanced feature of this button. This is how we use it during conferences:

Rec've call from customer
Hit Conference (dial outside party - preface call)
Hit Conference again (bring all parties together)
Hit Conference - 1 last time (this places you on hold)
Hit headset button (this removes you from call)

Hope this helps,
Chris

if you want to drop the last caller in the conference then you would use the "drop" feature. usually administered by default in the soft menu.
