if you have access to the knowledge base they have several workflow zip files that you can import and play with.if you dont publish your email here and i will send you samples to get you started.on a very rudimentary note the workflows in livelink are maps to certain sequences of action that need to happen in an organization.you basically paint (flow chart) a map of how the business rules should take place and this is done using the workflow painter.every wf will have an initiator,a boolean step where you can route your actions based on your true/false conditions, user steps where you can access users of your livelink system, process step for processing some specificities.Once a ll wf has been created you initiate it in your system and then it becomes an executing process (instance) within your system you can then monitor, stop delete etc according to your organization's needs. It does require an understanding of the business process rather than any programming experience even though programmers tend to be logical in their understanding of the process. It is an interesting tool and organizations have used them very effectively to combat thier business needs. Most of the time it eliminates the use of a paper based sytem and offers exceptional auditing abilities.Coupled to the fact that you can add to a work flow package forms, documents, attributes etc and it becomes really an effective mode of communication between different assets of an organization.
Hope I haven't scared you, rest assured it is one of the most easy tools inside livelink
There is user documentation called Quick Start for Workflows available on the Open Text Knowledge center, & it should also be on your Livelink install disk.
