I get the following output from grpck command:

> grpck -n ALL
3001-227 User name "user1" not found in password file.
3001-233 Invalid admin value in /etc/security/group for "hypadm"
3001-238 Missing stanza for "lp" in /etc/group.

I understand the first error, but I'm not clear on the last 2 error messages. What do these errors mean, and how do I clear them?

Any help is appreciated.

IMHO the second line is complaining about a value that you've assigned to one of the hypadm's group name

In the third, the system thinks that you have a group called lp but it can't find it in /etc/groups! maybe it is only there in /etc/security/group but not in the /etc/group!

I guess there was some manual editing of those files which shouldn't happen in the first place if the proper way was followed (i.e. commands or smitty).

Khalid
