I currently have a customer that is a fairly large restaurant with a Merlin Legend 6.1 and they have two receptionist stations (10 & 11) and three incoming POTS reservations lines (801, 802, and 803). They want all three of the POTS lines to ring on extensions 10 and 11 simultaneously (which is currently accomplished by adding the lines to those extensions as personal lines). But, after four rings, they want the calls to be placed in a queue that can be picked up by pressing a button on the stations 10 and 11. Station 10 is an MLX-28 and station 11 is an MLX-10. The system is configured as a key system and station 10 is the operator. What would be the logical way to set this up?

Could I do the following:

1) Create three bogus extensions (let's say 7101, 7102, 7103)

2) Create three separate calling groups (755,756,757)

3) Set up group 755 with extension 7101 as a member and assign it to line 801. Set up group 756 with extension 7102 as a member and assign it to line 802. Set up group 757 with extension 7103 as a member and assign it to line 803. Set all of the groups to auto-login and the maximum number of calls in each group to 1.

4) Set up three coverage buttons on both extensions 10 and 11 that provide primary coverage for extensions 7101, 7102, and 7103.

Wouldn't the calls be placed in queue after 30 seconds of ringing? How would you retrieve the call? Would the fake extension be logged out after the call went into queue?

Thanks.

Can you use delayed call forwarding to send the call into a park slot, then assign a button on the phone to monitor the park slot and retrieve the call?

To get a more complere description of the features you are trying to use, I would suggest downloading the Feature Reference document for the Legend from support.avaya.com it covers feature interactions also.

For any elaborations, post back with questions.

Happy reading!
