Is there any way that data from a grid row can be read into memory variables? How can I delete a record from a grid?

        Thank you,
        ge@pctechnology.fsnet.co.uk

Hmm...FoxStudent, are you a former 2.6'er? Just wondering, because when I transitioned from Browses to Grids, I spent several months in the insane asylum.

The answers to both your questions lie in the RecordSource you are using for the Grid. Assuming your RecordSource is a table or updateable cursor, you can remove a record from the Grid by simply removing it from the table (in other words, issuing a delete statement), or by allowing your user to do the same with the little delete box to the left of each row.

Again, assuming your RecordSource is a table or cursor, you can use a scatter command to place the field contents into memory variables -- but why?

Out of curiousity, where in the UK are you?
Robert Bradley

<a href= - Visual FoxPro Development
