I have 3 32 port FXS gateways all configured and for the most part are working ok. They are connected to an asterisk based PBX and I can call from ext to ext, connect, talk etc but when I try to dial out, as soon as I finish dialing the external number, after about 2 seconds, I hear a click and it disconnects and I go back to dial tone.

The trunks are the pbx are fine because I can dial out ok from any of the IP phones registered to the PBX. I use 9 to dial out and do have it in my dial plan on the gateway. Here is a copy of the dial plan....

{ ^1900x. | [1-4]xx | [91][2-9]xx[2-9]xxxxxx | [9][2-9]xx[2-9]xxxxxx | 9011[2-9]x. | [3469]11 | *x+ } I have tried removing the brackets around the 9 and 91 but I get the same results.

Is there something wrong in it or is it something else I might be missing?

Is your outbound CLI set?
Sounds like you may be sending extension numbers as CLIs.
Some trunks will only let you call outbound when you're sending an "originating number" that matches one of the numbers on that same trunk.
