Hi all,
I'm trying to write a 360 panorama in flash, but I am having certain problems. For one, I'm getting the image from a remote website using the loadmovie method in mx.
In order to create a panning effect I tried to make copies of this image, but was unsuccessful. For some reason dupllicate movie(the movie is jsut a load movie call) doesn't seem to work.
Addtionally I'm trying to add buttons to sections of the picture with coordinates that are not even on the stage.
Any suggestions.
Thanks a whole lot

rather than creating the panning effect your self consider just loading your image into this component

works like a charm

thanks but this doesn't do the two things I'm interested in.
that is loading pics from a url or have hotspots(which or buttons type things on the image, that when you click you will be take else where.....)( i am especially looking for hotspots to the placed in part of the image outside the stage as the image is soo big)

K9logic,
That is pretty cool. I'm not a 100% sure if that's what I want. In particular, what I'd like to know is whether you are getting the image dynamically? that's what I seem to be having main problems with(and making copies of it), and whether it is possible to add a hotspot similar to yours when the image is only loaded at runtime.
Thanks,
mmmbob

hmm, no my images are embedded.. but y do u need to load them dynamically?

are you making flash thing that will turn any pic into a panorama?

I learned a bit yesterday, today i learned a lot, imagine what i'll learn tomorrow!

K9logic...
Yep, that's the idea. Perhaps pass the url of the image and like hotspots or whatever and then generate a panorama with the hotspot buttons.,....all dynamically.

sounds cool :)

well logical steps would seem to be:

make working example with 1 working hotspot

get vars for pic-file location and hotspot x,y
load pic into a holder mc
have the hotspot position itself in this holder mc on the given x,y
duplicate movie should work to copy the image mc hmm...
then the copy has to move with the origional to make the panorama effect...

im gonna try n cook something up
giv me 5 min i'll c what i can do

I learned a bit yesterday, today i learned a lot, imagine what i'll learn tomorrow!

Thanks K9logic. I appreciate your trying. (BTW the loadmovie method to load an image works only with MX)
Could you also give me your fla for the existing thing. I'd like to look at that as well.
