flash cd-rom development

I've been ask if flash can insert into and extrat data out of a database on the users hard drive via odbc?

can this be done, it not a web app a cd-rom project

sound ok if you can create a vb, c++ or delhpi application as an XML socket server.
you could then use the flash XML object to send/load data over ODBC provider.

probably many other ways too. thats just the first that occured to me

see any of that for flash?

if not maybe that's a prossible commerical product?

best product for this is flash studio pro. ive worked with this before and its great but probably pricy. definately worth while buying if you will doing many projects but if its a one off...will the budget stand it ?

Bill, thanks once again look liek you've save me some time again and I can't tajnk you enough.

studio pro looks like it free for developers to try...so I'll try....it if works I'll recomemmed the purchase these folks could use some of the other stuff it does any way
