Flash and Database 1

I don't know anything about Flash (just thought I would get that out of the way). I have been told that I might be able to use Flash for a CD based web site. The web site needs to be able to read data in from some sort of data storage (maybe database or XML) on the CD and present the information to the user in an interactive fashion. Can I use flash for this and if so how would I start out?

for a cd xml is a good choice

there are many downloads available using flash and xml that you could pick to bits to see how it all goes together

however this might be a better place to get some preliminary answers
