My company uses a 3com officeconnect firewall. Our ISP has asked me to configure the firewall (with NAT enabled) with a policy allowing all incoming traffic on port 25. This will allow us to receive email from our ISP's relay through our ADSL gateway, then firewall and then deliver it to our MX server. For testing purposes I have opened up the ICMP ports and the telnet ports
However. I have done all of this and wwe still can't receive emails. My ISP can't even telnet to it. Pings can't get through and neither can anyone telnet to it. Packets just reach the router and then thats where it stops.
I have plugged the "external IP" nic card from the MX server straight into the router (bypassing the firewall) and that works. External telnet connects.
Does anyone have any ideas on what I am doing wrong with the officeconnect firewall?
