File system damaged or nor

Recently I noticed that O&O defrag reported that my file system was dameged. After running chkdsk windows did report resolving some minor issues. However, everytime I run a scan on my harddisk (either with O&O or the new tuneup 2007) I get this message that my file system is dameged, no matter how many times I run chkdsk. For some reason chkdsk does repair the drive, but it gets damaged again after logging into windows.
Can anybody tell me if my drive is about to die or is it some kind of malware (I ran multiple rootkitdetectors, but found nothing)

get a diag-prog that reads the S.M.A.R.T infos of ur hdd, or get a diag-tool from the hdd manufactor website and run it on the hdd
