Hi, I have a recurring problem in Word 2000 on a Windows XP PC. File-open directory in word is not in the same order as in Windows Explorer. I need to open files in word but in alphabetical order. I have setup Windows Explorer to read in alphatecial order. Holding down the control key I shutdown Explorer and rebooted the computer. Didn't work. What did work yesterday was a system restore although I would like a permanent solution to his problem.

I think I understand the question...

In the Open dialog box, use the Views drop-down to choose Details. Now click on the Name column neading to sort files alphabetically by name.
