Hi everybody,
I have a new question. I have to install a new farm and I have to finish the installation as soon as possible. The issue is that my client haven't got the Feature Release sofware yet. My question is: Is there any problem if I install the MF XPe software and the applicactions before installing the Feature Release? I will install the FR when my client get it. In the feature Could I have problems in my system?
Thanks a lot, I am in a hurry to take the decision if I start to install or not.
Regards

This depends on the applications you are running. If you are only running Microsoft Office 2000, I can verify that I have had no problems installing FR1 onto existing XPe servers.

I have upgraded servers with SQL and Oracle 8i Data Stores, but not Access.

On the whole, I have enjoyed the improvements, and have not heard of anything negative which relates purely to FR1. A fact which is still surprising me - I hope FR2 is as good!

You may want to review CTX070017, as one person I know had to use the tips in this document.

I hope this helps CitrixEngineer@yahoo.co.uk

I am supposed there is no problems if I install FR after MF XPe and the applications, but I want to be sure. I have to install Office 2000, Siebel, Arbor, Vitria BussinesWare, Toad, ....
I can't find the document you talking about. Could send me the url?
Thank for the information.
Regards

MetaFrame 1.0 for Microsoft NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server

Verify correct version of IMAsystem.dll

After installing Service Pack 1 for MetaFrame XP and rebooting, the server returns the error message: "Entry point cannot be found."

In the event view, the following message appears.

Event id: 26
Source: Application Popup
Desc: Application popup: termsrv.exe - Entry point not found. The procedure entry point IMA_BUF_EventBuffer2 @@QAE@GABVIMAVERSION@@K@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library ImaSystem.dll

Resolution

The resolution to this issue is in Citrix Knowledgebase article CTX836242 (Below. :)CE). While the DLLs listed in the article are different, you can apply the process described in CTX836242 to resolve this issue. Essentially, under certain circumstances, IMAsystem.dll is not being properly replaced in the System32 directory by the Service Pack 1 installation. Manually deleting the old Imasystem.dll and replacing it with the Service Pack 1 DLL resolves the issue.

MetaFrame XP for Windows 2000

I hope this helps

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Users cannot log in after installing MetaFrame XP Service Pack 1.
After installing MetaFrame XP 1.0 Service Pack 1, the following error message(s) may be displayed:

"ERROR: Uninstall could not remove the Feature Release settings of this server from the data store. Uninstall will now exit." when attempting to uninstall the service pack.

- or -

"net.exe- entry point not found-the entry point ima_getprinterflag cannot be located in dll imamfrpc_client.dll" occurs when logging on to the MetaFrame server after uninstallation of Service Pack 1 fails.

These issues happen because the following three DLLs are not being replaced:

ImaRPCClient.dll
ImaMfRpc_Client.dll
ImaLicRpcClient.dll
These files have dates before 12/2000 unless hotfixes were installed. There may also be instances of each of these files being marked for deletion.

To resolve this issue:

Manually delete the files that are marked for deletion.
Rename the three original files and replace them with the updated ones from the SP1/FR1 CD or download.
Reboot the server.
