I have a white background layer and and an image of outdoors. The outdoors pic is square... I want to blend or fade the pic into the white background... how can I do this??????

hit ctrl and select the layer that has the image you want to fade. then make a new layer and select the gradient tool, and select a radial gradient then just make the gradient go from 0% opacity to 100% and white then draw in your gradient. This is the slightly longer way but an easier way is to use a mask. First you need to know what how the masks work. And even I have trouble with them since i am still learning
