Hi All,

Anyone know how to configure external hotdesking in Release 5.0.

There is a new external hotdesking option and number field in user and device config but it is greyed out.

Any suggestions?

it is greyed out until you assign the EHDU license. This is not new to 5.0

Thanks KwbMitel,

I have 20 assigned in the license bank but still greyed out?

Regards

No it must be assigned in the user and config form.

There is a radio button that needs to be selected on the user then the EHDU fields can be programmed.

Thanks,

If its the Yes/No button that appears to be Greyed out also?

It's only there where you add a new user but once you assign a device type appears to disappear.

All very Strange......

I don't have a system in front of me to help me to help you so try this.

I believe there is also a check box for the EHDU in the Multiline IP Set form. Try selecting it there.

Is it possible you have designated a set type?

The User must be a Hotdesk user to allow the EHDU to be assigned.

You then associate the 2 devices via a Personal Ring Group.

RTFM?

The licenses must be assigned to the controller from the available license pool and no set type should be set when the user is programmed. Otherwise its pretty simple. There is a check box for EHDU and you put in the external number. If the user has a phone on site then you use the personal ring group to take full advantage of the feature. If they are a road warrior it gives your users a quick and dirty means of calling the user via an extension number found in their phone book.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.
