I have a avaya system that place in this orders. 308EC, partner messaging, and the 509 processor module. it works fine. I setup for auto attendant by letting caller hear the menu prompt before directing them to an extension with direct extension dialing.
As i press in the extension at the menu prompt it does direct the call to the desire extension from 10 - 18. But when i press extension 19 - 26 would not work.
I did try do a test by pressing the extension from the phone at extension 20 to extension 10 and it ring. from ext 19 - 26 there also a dial tone.
so what is the problem here?

Well, extension 19-24 are the ports on the Partner Messaging, so the phones plugged into the 308 module are extensions 25 through 32. So maybe you think those phones are 19-26, and are dialing the wrong extensions.

Sounds like the 308ec is in the far left position, messaging is to the right of that and the processor is to the right of that, with 2 open slots to the right. Is that correct?

If so.. processor= ext 10 thru 18, 308ec= ext 19 thru 26, and voicemail = 27 thru 32.

Do you have mailboxes or transfer only extensions created for those extensions in voicemail?

That last part I,n not clear on what you are saying.sorry...

dear 1043,
mailbox are assign to the extension when u mean transfer as i direct extension dialing (DXD)?
what i was saying about the last part is that i did some transfer test to call to other extension like 19 -26 and it work pretty well. But when i did a test call and press the extension 19-26 during the menu prompt it wont work.
For ext 10 - 18 during the menu prompt those ext work not 19 -26

If you can call extension 10 from another internal phone but not from the auto attendant then 1 or 2 things are preventing it.

1. Selector code 1 is not set to direction transfer. But since you can transfer to extension 10 thru 18 we have to assume selctor code 1 is set correctly.

2. An extension is not created for extension 19 in the voicemail. It can be either a regular mail box a transfer only extension or an extension assigned to an auto attendant. What happens when you call extension 19 from an internal phone on the system? Does it cover to a mailbox, does it just ring or does it ring several times and then transfer to extension 10.

How many port vm license?
What voicemail ports are assigned to #505 group 7?
Is extension 19 set up with coverage to v.m. (#310)

That should be...

1. Selector code 1 is not set to direct extension transfer. But since you can transfer to extension 10 thru 18 we have to assume selctor code 1 is set correctly
