Exporting to Excel data format issue

After exporting to Excel all my populated fields in the spreadsheet have a " ' " in them. They look like this

'$4545.45 or 'Jan 02

What needs to change on my export?

What kind of data type was in the database and what was that value supposed to look like? VBSlammer
