Dear Forum members,

I am an excel rookie. I have customer names on the first column and customer IDs on the second culumn. I am trying to insert my second column data into my first columns alternate rows.

Current data:
Column 1 Column 2
Row 1 Joe Joe123
Row 2 Bob Bob123

I would like to show the data like this:

Column 1
Row 1 Joe
Row 2 Joe123
Row 3 Bob
Row 4 Bob123

Could someone point me in the right direction?

I appreciate your assistance.

Thanks.

What is it you want this spreadsheet to do for you in the end? Entering the customer ID in the same column as the name may cause you trouble down the road with formulas.

Hi,

Simply COPY the names in Column B abd then PASTE them in Column A, in the nect cell below the current data.

Sort the data in Column A

If everything looks ducky, delete the data in column B
