I am having trouble creating a formula that will populate payperiods for a given year.

The end user would enter the year (ie. 2009) and the sheet would populate with the payperiods for that year. Some of the features would be payperiod 1 is the payperiod in which jan 1 falls. Do I need to have a start date that never changes?

If you need more info feel free to ask.

Thanks,

Hi,

On what DAY OF THE WEEK does your week begin?

Does your year begin on the first DOW in that year?

While not addressing your particular problem, this might get you started:

The key is getting your STARTING date.

From then onward, the next date is a simple formula taking the previous date plus the pay-period days, assuming that it is weekly or bi-weekly.

What signals us to start a new calendar is the first pay in that calendar year. I would like to use Friday, January 11/2008 as my starting point (This is the first Pay day of the the year), making December 23/2007 - January 5/2008 the first payperiod of the year. As the dates above indicate we are on a bi-weekly pay.

thanks,

Your dates do not make sense.

If the last pay period of 2007 is
12/23/2007 - 1/5/2008

then the first pay period of 2008 is

1/6/2009 - 1/19/2008

What is "I would like to use Friday, January 11/2008 as my starting point "
