I am using Excel 2003

I want to contionally format a cell with a backround colour depending upon the values derived from another formula in another cell. How do I do this. I looked in conditional formating but it just says this cell or formula is ..

Bit confused

Hi,

Explain what value or formula in what other cell.

Use the "Formula IS" option

If you need to reference another cell, you would use something like:

=$A$10="0"

This creates a True/False result which the CR hooks into

Rgds, Geoff

We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colours but they all live in the same box.

Please read FAQ222-2244 before you ask a question

You are funny Skip !
