I have Visual Studio 6.0 with SP4. When I open the application Windows Installer appears and the dialog box says "Installing...." but nothing ever happens. I can click once on one of the top menu items and then am completely frozen (have to ctrl+alt+del) in the application (can go to other applications meanwhile.

Any ideas of why this is happening? The other products installed like FoxPro, InterDev, C++ etc. are all opening just fine...

Thanks in advance.

SP6 is available for Visual Studio 6. Try installing that before trying anything else. Here's a link to the SP:

I used to rock and roll every night and party every day. Then it was every other day. Now I'm lucky if I can find 30 minutes a week in which to get funky. - Homer Simpson

Thanks for the advice, although I'm still getting the same error. Someone here said it was because it was trying to update the version of OWC that I have installed. I don't actually want to do that so I would normally cancel the installer, but (a) it doesn't actually end up installing anything (hangs there) and (b) when I hit cancel it hangs there.

Not worth worrying about if it takes any effort - all of my work at this point can be done in MS Access.
