Hi there,

We are running Arcserve 7.0 Enterprise for Netware with the all the latest patches installed. Running this on Netware 6 SP2 and a Dell PowerEdge 2500 Server with an internal Dell PowerVault PV-120T-DDS4AL Tape Auto-Loader. When running ASTART the following error comes up. "Failed to load module SYS:\ARCSERVE\NLM\DISCOVER.NLM. Please switch to the console screen for more information." When switching to the console there are no errors to indicate what is happening. The screen is shown below. It seems to be a loading order problem because if I remove DISCOVER.NLM from the ASCONFIG.INI and load after the NLMs are all loaded then it doesn't give the error. If I just rearrange the order in ASCONFIG.INI and tell it to load last the same error pops up.

Anyone have any ideas. Thanks.

Hello Malcom,

we run into the same problem. Did you got an answer/solution from outside this forum?

We are running Arcserve 7.0 Enterprise for Netware with the all the latest patches installed. Running this on Netware 6 SP2 and a IBM Netfinitiy X230 Server with an external Compaq TL 891 Tape 35/70GB DLT-Library.

Does the console give any further indication why DISCOVER.NLM does not load? -----------------------------------------------------
"It's true, its damn true!"

Hello TheLad,

no - not realy.

When switching to the console there are no indicted.

Looking on the Logger Screen it seem to me that discover.nlm is loaded without problems!!!

Logger Screen in detail:

I'm encountering the same problem running Arcserve7 with Netware 6 sp2 using a DELL Powervault 120T DLT autoloader.

Have tried using different versions of discover.nlm. I've noticed that the problem only occurs when the DLT is loaded with tapes, if the DLT is empty the fault does not occur. This problem also seems to be confined to netware 6, as I've not encountered this fault on any of our netware 5 servers.
You can easily by pass the fault by going to the nlm loader screen and clearing it by pressing esc several times. Jobs seem to run fine after that.

I guess this is another of the many bugs in arcserve7 when running it on netware6.

the same here, if we confirm the popup with enter on NLM Loader screen every thing works fine as far as I can see.

It has just a bad taste to me if a error is reported and nothing could be found - especialy when working on backups.

I've had the same problem for ages & haven't seen any detrimental effect. What I have tried is commenting out the discover.nlm load line in ASCONFIG.INI (and removing the NLM reference in the ORDER1= line), now Arcserve loads fine but the AS manager on the workstation can't connect to the server. However, loading Discover manually at the console after the rest of Arcserve has loaded always seems to work fine. I might leave Discover.nlm out of the asconfig.ini file and add it to autoexec.ncf after a delay.
