Hopefully this is the right place to post this. I am trying to make a decision in purchasing some design software.

My question is, when applying eefects such as bevel, drop shadows etc. does Adobe Illustrator rasterize those effects or are the effects as true a vector as the rest of the drawings in the document?

Thanks

Yes.

Ilustrator can produce both raster and vector effects. It can produce live and flattened transparency effects.

Don't trust me or any other stranger in a forum. Download the demo before purchase.

Thanks for the input and for the great advice. One thing I have heard is that you can't use the mouse wheel for zoom. I know it sounds picky but, I'd love software to do that one thing if nothing else to save messing around with the keyboard.

Thanks again.

Thanks again for this great advice. I did sue the trial download and then purchased it. It will be quite some time before I have learned all there is to know about it but, it is certainly the right designware to be using. I might actually take a few classes to learn some of the more advanced features.

The only thing I have seen elsewhere out there that would be neat is a b-spline tool but, ya can't have everything! Thanks again,
Steve.
