I understand that their is a button that you can put on your phone that if you are talking on your phone you can send that call to your cell phone. And leave the buliding.
You have to program the EC500 for the station first (or xmobile station depending on release of software) before the extend will work. Basically you create an off-pbx-station for your ext pointing to your cell phone number.
Once you've created the EC500 station (also keep in mind you have to have the licenses for EC500) you can use the "extend" button to have the system push the call to your cell phone. Answer your cell phone, hang up your desk phone and walk away. While on the call you'll still have an appearance as "busy" which you can walk back to your desk, pick up and hang up your cell to continue the call from your desk. Great feature IMO.
I am using the 5 "free" licenses that came with the switch. I heard from an Avaya employee that once you want to buy a 6th license you have to pay for the 5 that you have for free. does any one know if this is true??? I love extension to cellular, and have a bunch of users that want it...
I heard the same story and was told "that sometimes happens". I also heard from other users that If you screem loud enough they will back away slowly. I also heard the same thing about the IP sofphone licenses.
I have the 5 free licenses that came with R11 and have a xmobile number setup (brdg-appr to my extension) and it works. When I go to add a button on my station, I do not get an "extend" button choice. Also, I dont get a change off-pbx-station command.
