easy visio problem

hi,

i've figured out how to unlock shapes, but unfortunately i continue to run into shapes that have little x's through each one of their handles. It's hard for me to manipulate those as I'd like to. Any ideas?

As well, sometimes it's hard for me to find the shapes i'm looking for, as I can't really navigate stencils that well without a kind of opening, nope not that one, closing type affair. any solutions to that?

think i figured it out, actually, was part of a group. is there a better way to navigate/preview stencils?
