Hello,
I have a quick question regarding FQDN.
If I have an MX record in a zone that my ISP hosts saying that the hostname is mail.mycompany.com (and points to my external IP address), the firewall in my office then ports port 25 to a machine called Machine1 that has exchange on it, does it actually make any difference what the FQDN in exchange is? Does it matter if the FQDN in exchange is machine1 or mail.mycompany.com?
Thanks in advance for any responses given.
Kind Regards,
Paul.
