I need to retrieve file size, last modified date, etc from files returned via the Dir function. In 2000 you can get all of that from File System Object properties. What's the easiest way in Excel97?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!

Hi
Have a look at this link. You should be able to get the info you mention from the doc properties.

Funny thing about fso, I've used it in xl2k then successfully run the same code on an xl97 machine on a NT4(SP6) network. Can't explain it though!

;-)

If a man says something and there are no women there to hear him, is he still wrong? [ponder]

Hi,
The File System Object comes with windows (I think since 95 version), so no problem to use it with any (97 to XP) office version.
