Hi;
I can't seem to get rid of the dialup window that says "connecting" to my ISP. I'm running XP pro on DSL and everything's up to date. I stumbled across the answer once before in these forums but since then I've run Redhat 9.0 and reverted to XP due to hardware problems(lack of drivers). Now, for the life of me I can't remember how to stop that annoying little popup window. I've configured the computer to connect to my Isp by simply clicking on the IE shortcut okay but now I can't get rid of the dialup window. Tried "never dial a connection"-----(made sense since I'm on DSL)-----but then IE comes up with the ol' "unable to connect". I know I'll thump myself in the head when I get told how to do this so I've put on my helmet. Swing away!
Thanks,
Papa1

On the ISP Properties (for Dial up?) Look under Options. Do you have a box to uncheck displaying Dial up Connection progress?

Specifies whether the progress of the connection attempt is displayed while dialing and connecting.

Hi Linney;
Yes, I do have that box and it is unchecked so it shouldn't be displaying the little dialup window. I know it's something simple. I've dumped and recreated the dsl connection several times and still get the little progress window. It quickly disappears but it's just a niggly little thing that will drive me nuts until I solve it.
