Hi. My CD Burner stopped working so I put in another one in its place. My computer doesn't recognize the drive. All it sees is the C and A drive. To be sure, I changed the IDE cable but still nothing. I then put in my DVD burner in it's place and still just the C and A show up in My Computer. WHat am I missing. Ihit F2 and checked it out but it still says there is no drive except my hard drive and Floppy. HELLPP!

Frustrated

When you go into the bios change your IDE channels to Auto detect (they may be manually set.
Also make sure the jumpers on the back of the new drive are set properly to master (if on it's own) or slave if you have the drive connected with another drive.
Make sure the cable orientation is correct, unfortunately not all cables come keyed (with a locating lug) so make sure the red stripe on the cable is to pin 1 on the connection, both sides, motherboard and CDrom.
