Does Flash support XML file?

Hi there,

I am a newbie to Flash. I am considering to use Flash to make a dynamic navigation bar in my web page, but I am not sure if the following method works:

Using Flashing to read in a text file (say, a XML file) which contains the information of the navigation bar, and generate a dynamic navigation bar in my web page, depends on the content of the XML file. Hence, I can update the XML file instead of the flash program to maintain the navigation bar.

I have some questions as follows:

1. Does the above method work?
2. If the above method work, what is its pros and cons?

to check out the use of xml in flash (all of the menus are in xml/flash and the xml files call up text files into flash). Yep, you can call xml files and text files and the works. It's a headache at first, but it can be done with great success. Any questions just ask.
