DNS Error

i've recently started workin after graduating. THe problem is that some pc's do not connect to

http://www.hotmail.com,

due 2 an dns error, i heard that editing the IP settings will solve this but how? help pls

I need to know a little further information.....

1. How are your systems getting an IP Address. Are they running a static address or is your network hooked up to DHCP where the server assigns an IP Address.

2. What is the OS that your desktops are running?

3. Can the systems that can't connect to Hotmail connect to anything else or just can't connect to Hotmail?

I've sussed it thanks anyway, the problem was that within internet explorer menu 'tools' -
'internet options' -
'connections' -
'LAN Settings'

the box for using the same proxy server 4 all protocols was unchecked.
