So, I have a need to set up a SNMP community string to be applied to all of my HFA workpoints.... I am hoping that can be done through the DLS. Would I create a template with the Community String password in the template, and then apply the template to all my devices??? Or is this even possible...??

As always, thanks for your replies!!

Can you try this out with a few test phones ??

I was able to do it manually to a couple of phones, individually. Meaning, that I set it on 2 different phones manually through the DLS. I wasn't sure how you would push that change out to all of the phones by using the DLS. After looking through the different configuration tabs in the DLS, it looked like maybe the way to do it was with a template that had the SNMP flag checked, and include the community string password... Just didn't want to push out something that overwrote all the other configuration of the phones, and then have about 800 dead phones.....

You create a template for the SNMP settings, then you add the the template to the profiles and all future phones will get the template when they register. You can also push just the template out. I would create the template and then push it out to a few phones to make sure it works before committing it to production.
