I'm working on splitting a database. Unfortunately the DB split wizard never worked so I split it the manual way. All is well.

The problem is when I put a password on the backend (Tools > Security > Set Database Password), now when I open the front end, everytime I utilize a dlookup, I get an "invalid password error".

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Andrew

Yes. You should secure befor splitting. now the front end has no password, and tries to connect with that 9empty pwd) to the backend.

Try setting the same pwd to the front end.

Thanks for the post. I did solve the problem, but not by setting the same password on the front end.

For anyone else having the problem:
1. Delete passwords on both ends
2. Delete the links
3. Set the password on the back end
4. Redo the links
5. Set password on front end

I guess when the link information is stored, poassword information is also stored?
