Displaying XML tags in HTML 1

I am trying to display XML files in an HTML page using ASP but can only get the values of the XML files. I want to be able to display the XML tags as well but the browser ignores them (or is trying "to be smart&quot. Does anyone know away around this? Cheers! ¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬

To display an xml file in a browser it needs to be transformed to html using xsl stylesheets. Unless you do that any browser would not know what the tags in xml are? Recall that you can have a tag called <myTag>Content</myTag> in xml. A grammer file should also accompany the xml file always that defines the user defined tags (against which your xml file is validated initially). The broser is not trying to be smart as the you said.
