I am getting these pop ups indicating disk Delayed Write failed errors on my HD. I have 2 partitions on it C and H. only H is giving the errors nothing on C. Being its the same physical disk, it seems odd only one partition has the errors. Ive checked the IDE cable and BIOS. CHKDSK /f shows no errors. Any suggestions whats causing this and how to fix it?

Hi,

If you are using XP SP2 it could be a Disk Caching issue in which case open explorer > rt-click your hard-disk > select properties > hardware > select hard disk > properties.
Select "Policies"
Clear "Enable write caching" > OK >OK.
Repeat for each drive (if more than one)

Also check your DMA/UDMA settings

Those you will find under the Device Manager, under the IDE ATA/ATAPI Controller settings...
