Different filegroup for indexes?

Does it make sense to put indexes in a different filegroup? I was looking at my Indexes/Keys and if I'm understanding correctly, the "Data Space Specification" will allow me to put the indexes in a different file group.

Does this give me any performance increase or help in any way?
