Hello,

My XP box has user accounts for myself and my wife. I like to use Opera for browsing, she likes Internet Explorer. Unfortunately the setting for 'default browser' is a system-wide one, so I have to leave it as IE and start Opera manually when I'm logged on.

Is there a way around this? I have read articles about a similar problem with the default email client that suggest running a .reg file at logon to change the default application. The downside is that it doesn't work after you're both logged on and use fast user switching, but I could live with that.

If running .reg files is the only way, does anyone have any info on which keys I need to change?

Thanks

Try SlimBrowser. It runs on top of IE. Gives you the tabbed window interface of Opera with an "IE" look if you want it that way. You might both get to like it. I've used SlimBrowser heavily for a year and have no complaints.
