I have a customer that is installing a T1. Should we order T1 or PRI? They want to be able to have Caller ID on thier DID calls and I was told they couldn't have it on T1, that they needed PRI. Then I had an installer tell me that NUVOX can do CID or the T!. Anybody know about this? It's an 0X32 with 6.1 software.
Thanks for any help.

Which will require you to purchase a keycode for it to work on the MICS end.

Joshesch:

Caller ID Name & Number requires the PRI. I've worked with a CLEC (XO Comm) and my tech has Caller ID "Number Only" via T1 working for at 2 locations. The LEC has to send you *ANI*DNIS* (XO deploys DMS 500 COs and this worked great with the Nostar MICS 4.1) From what I understand, you set the T-1 to work just as you would with 2Way DID and set "ANI" to Yes. I not sure how you would work this with other LECs?? See if they can provide you *ANI*DNIS*. Good luck.

ive also heard xo as doing it ... infact thats a sales pitch ... we can give callerid on a T1 ...
Aside: with SBC (or any LEC) PRI monthly charges are lesser than a T1

technically (theoretically) a T1 can and does provide inband register signalling and in european standard that is what is done ...whereas in the US XO is the first and only LEC i've seen use this capability

Why not use PRI? Granted, T-1 gets you 1 more channel (23 vs 24), but is that worth swimming against the stream? Lots of folks know how to set up MICS for PRI. The Nortel PRI keycode is a one-time cost.

And particularly on an 0x32, who's going to use close to 23 channels (except a call center or telemarketer)?
