I am having problem with dial up networking with Windows 98 OSR2 Version.

Quite frequently, when I dial up with my 56K PCI Modem to my ISP, after successful connection to my ISP for about 15-30 minutes, all incoming network connections fail despite the line being remain active. I have done nothing special prior to the failure and I have not stayed idle for long periods >30seconds. In fact, even PINGing local address fails.

I have reinstalled TCP/IP and modem driver but these didn't help.

Any suggestions?

What modem? What driver version?
How about some system specs, RAM, CPU?
It's most likely a winmodem, meaning it needs CPU and RAM resources to run, and over time it will drain free RAM from all other applications. It's also possible that the phone line quality is inconsistent, and a modem that must retrain often, will "hang" trying to retrain to a slower (or sometimes faster) speed. Cheers,
Jim
