Desktop icon keep reoccuring

Hello,

i have a problem with one of my Windows clients.

When the user deletes some icons from the desktop they will reoccur after the next reboot.

His profile is stored on a domain controller. If look at the date of the NTUSER.DAT on the domain controller, it is current. So that the profile should have been written to server correctly.

Does anyone know, how this could happen and what i can do about it?

anything on the local machine in documents & settings in either all users or the actual user, in either start up or desktop?

The setup is so, that the user profile is copied to the local PC. So there is data in the local user path.

ok, but if i remember correctly there is an entry in the documents & settings\all users\desktop it will also appear on their desktop. i would check the local machine and see if these icons that reappear after a reboot are located there.

Sounds like the roaming profile is corrupt and need to be re created. Are you getting any Userenv 1517 error messages in the logs at all? We get this quite often.
