Hi,

I have here a notebook drive from a HP notebook, but I want to format it and install everything again, but on windows drive management I can't delete the recovery partition.
Anyone knows any other way to do it?

Thanks.

Do you have an OS install disk????? The recovery partition is there in case your other partition goes bad and you need to restore the OS and apps. IF you do have an OS install disk, start the install process. WindowsXp (or whatever OS you are using) SHOULD allow you to delete any/all partitions. IF the OS install doesn't allow that, I'd try using Partition magic (or your favorite disk management software).

check the HD's manufacturer website. I know Western Digital has a formating utility (free) to accomplish what you want to do.

All drive manufacturers have a tool that you can use and they usually have an option to "zero" the drive. Here are some of the common links:

fujitsu

IBM and Hitachi

Maxtor/Quantum

Samsung

Seagate

Western Digital
